Blogger disappointed with Digg

Blogger Sean Kelly deiced to give up Slashdot for 2 months and try Digg.

"Immediately I was buffeted with an array of articles rife with misspellings that were poorly summarized, failed to give context, and just weren't all that interesting outside of a "oh, wow" kind of response. Yet I decided to give it a fair shot: 2 months worth of Digg."

What's wrong with Digg?
- The article summaries are awfully short, averaging about 35 words.
- Summaries are atrociously misspelled and exhibit dreadful grammar.
- Comments on Digg articles are usually content-free.

Jesus says:

I just wanted to say that I noticed something very suspect about the frontpage today.

digitalgopher has like 10 frontpage stories out of the last 40. If you look at who has Dugg his stories, it almost always includes a very similar group of people (at least at first), such as 3monkeys, supernova17, alex.bosworth, etc. Coincidentally, if you look at the stories that each of them have submitted, pretty much every single one of them have Dugg each other's stories as well. Several of them are on the frontpage very often, such as tlman59.

It is like this single group of people controlling the frontpage. I'm trying to figure out how I can do more detailed statistical work on it, but if you just look at the stories they have submitted and their friend's history manually, it becomes very obvious.

This is incredibly lame, so I just nee to get some friends to in order to get the ball rolling on the front page?

The story on front page?
'Cool Sofa Morphs Into Bunk-Beds' (908 diggs so far...)
LAME!!!!!!!!!!!!
