Google is about to sign a deal with Dish Network, the nation’s second largest satellite TV company, to deliver ads for Dish’s network.
Given Google’s strategy with targeted advertising, Google will attempt to apply the advertising auction model to indexed data about television shows, user demographics and other important metrics.
Google may be on its way to cracking the huge television market, to deliver a very different kind of ad to peoples’ living rooms. According to the WSJ Saturday, Google has begun a test run serving up TV...

Podcasting advertising revenues are expected to nearly quintuple in the next five years, according to a report to be issued this week by eMarketer, Mediaweek reported. That would mean marketers will spend $400 million dollars on podcasts in 2011, which would be only 2% of spending expected this year in the interactive ad market.
James Belcher, the eMarketer analyst, credits most of the ad growth to Google. He expects the company to develop an audio version of AdSense which would allow any podcast producer to include ads in their shows....

YouTube founder Chad Hurley confirmed that his team was working on a revenue-sharing mechanism that would "reward creativity".

Yahoo has been seeing soft ad sales in the last few weeks, but Fox Interactive Media isn't experiencing a similar downturn, said Ross Levinsohn, president of the division.
"We're certainly not seeing a slowdown," Levinsohn told the audience Monday, during a morning keynote address at the OMMA conference in New York.
Levinsohn also was bullish about user-created content, arguing that media companies must offer consumers a way to participate. "We've been thinking a lot about platforms," he said. "If you don't build something today ... with...

The two did not disclose the terms of the deal, in which Microsoft will be the exclusive seller and provider of banner advertising and sponsored links for Facebook. The site, a social network that allows users to set up pages about themselves, post pictures and create discussions, attracts a youthful demographic that is highly prized by advertisers.
The deal follows an announcement earlier this month that Google had agreed to pay a minimum of $900 million over three and a half years to the News Corporation to provide search functions and...

Today myspace has suffered a major database problem. And it looks the cleanest it has ever looked before, without any ads everywhere.
Aa far as I know SoCal has had an intense power drain because of the weather.
