BitTorrent will launch a download service offering movies, music, TV programmes and games tomorrow (Monday), according to the New York Times.
The programming comes from studios, including Twentieth Century Fox, Paramount and Warner Brothers, that previously announced their intention to work with BitTorrent. There is also a new partner: the 83-year-old Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, which will take part by making 100 films available on the site from its 4,000-movie library.

Om Malik of GigaOM reports on the rumor:
Sources say BitTorrent, the company trying to monetize the peer-to-peer distribution software of the same name, is close to raising a substantial round of funding. The round is estimated at $15 million. BitTorrent previously raised $8.75 million from Doll Capital Management, something we also heard rumored3 before it happened.

We've all heard the rumors about movie studios potentially releasing films over the Internet, now it's about to become reality with the help of bittorrent.
