Microsoft executive heads to Amazon.com

A veteran Microsoft Corp. executive who led the development of Windows Vista, the delayed update to the company's biggest product, is leaving to join Amazon.com.
Brian Valentine, senior vice president in Microsoft's Windows Core Operating System Division, is expected to join Amazon in mid-September. The move follows Microsoft's announcement in August that it would reassign Valentine, a 19-year company veteran, to an unspecified position following Vista's release early next year.
