Skype creators to launch online TV service

The founders of peer-to-peer network KaZaA and VoIP phenomenon Skype are working on an online distribution model for network TV programming, according to a recent article in BusinessWeek. The new venture, codenamed "the Venice Project," is reported to aim really, really high: "The idea is to become a dominant TV distribution company for the Internet era, just as companies such as Comcast have dominated TV distribution in the cable era." Niklas Zennström and Janus Friis are said to be talking to "every TV network in town."
