CNET said on Monday its president and chief operating officer Barry Briggs has resigned.

CNET said Briggs plans to pursue personal and other business interests. The company said it has no plans to replace him at this time.

CNET's chairman and chief executive officer Shelby Bonnie resigned in October due to his role in the company's backdated stock options controversy.

Recent data suggests that CNET’s overall traffic isn’t just flat, it’s declining at an alarmingly swift pace. A Jeffries & Company report released on Wednesday points to a third quarter 50% drop in CNET traffic compared to the same period in 2005, including a whopping 69% drop in traffic at WebShots.

Shelby Bonnie, chairman and chief executive of technology news publisher CNet Networks Inc., has resigned following a review of the company's stock-options practices, the company said Wednesday.

The company named Neil Ashe as its new chief executive, effective immediately.
