A leaked internal email surfaced on Dealbook blog. It’s from Gawker executive Lockhart Steele to Gawker staff, and here it is:
We let Nick Douglas go from Valleywag yesterday.

Nick Denton, publisher of Valleywag and founder of Gawker Media - has taken over writing duties.
According to Denton, he wants to make Valleywag more about financial gossip instead of just "about sex in the Valley.
I'm sure Nick Douglas made a lot of enemies, but the new Valleywag look just plain amateur... There is no official word from Douglas yet (the day after).
