Google reported second quarter earnings of $925 million, or $2.93 a share, but that wasn’t enough to satisfy Wall Street.

Excluding charges, Google reported earnings Thursday of $1.12 billion, or $3.56 a share. According to Thomson Financial Google was expected to report earnings of $3.59 a share.

On a conference call CEO Eric Schmidt noted that the second quarter is seasonally slow, but the company weathered it well. He also noted that the usual summer slowdown seems less than expected, but traffic is expected to fall in the third...

Few companies inspire such existential angst among investors as Time Warner.

"I want to own it. I want to like it. I keep thinking I have to buy it. And I do. I buy a little," says one fund manager. "Then I think about every one of the divisions, except cable, and I don't really like them."

World's No. 2 search engine reports results and guidance that disappoint investors; stock tumbles after-hours.

It looks like Yahoo! investors won't have any reason to yodel following the company's slightly disappointing second-quarter results and forecast for the third quarter issued Tuesday.
